Alabama added commitment No. 23 on Wednesday when JUCO cornerback Travell Dixon pulled the trigger. With the Tide defensive backfield possibly losing four starters from this year’s starting lineup, Dixon will add immediate security on defense.
Rated the number one junior college cornerback in the nation, Dixon is an elite player and will be expected to contribute right away. At 6-foot 3-inches and 205 pounds, Travell is very comparable to current Tide standout Dre Kirkpatrick and his reported 4.43 forty-yard dash time will be a welcome sight on the field next year.

Dixon recently narrowed his choices down to Alabama, FSU and Mississippi State. He ultimately cited Tide coaching staff, Bama’s need at the position and Saban’s track record putting players into the NFL as deciding factors. Dixon is described as a “lockdown corner” by his coaches, and they rave about his talent and the intensity he plays with. We will provide a comprehensive breakdown of Dixon in the coming weeks; in the meantime, Dixon will be doing a live Q&A at 10:00 EST on Ustream, channel TEAMTRILL.
