Alabama Crimson Tide softball bounced back in a big way from yesterday’s loss to Florida by trouncing the Gators by a final of 9-1 Saturday in Tuscaloosa.
Pitcher Jackie Traina held the Gators to just four hits on the day while pitching a complete game. Traina improves to 30-2 overall on the year. For the Gators, Hannah Rogers dropped to 26-5 on the year.
By defeating Florida, the Tide improved to 46-6 overall and 22-5 in the SEC, while Florida dropped to 44-9 overall and 21-6 in the SEC.
The Tide now have the opportunity to take sole possession of the SEC regular season title. Today’s win gives Alabama at least a share of their third consecutive SEC title.
Alabama will face Florida Sunday in Tuscaloosa, with the first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m. The game is to be aired on ESPNU.
