Every year around this time, the Internet gets in a tizzy about Nick Saban’s palacial Lake Burton, Ga., vacation home allegedly being put up for sale.
Monday morning was that moment for the 2012 offseason, as the Net got to buzzing about a $10.95 million listing for a majestic property on Lake Burton.
Thing is, that isn’t Saban’s actual vacation house. It is an investment property that Saban is simply involved in as a minority dealer.
Again, this isn’t newfound territory. The same post was on TigerDroppings.com in December 2010. It came up again when an Auburn fan posted the same breaking news on the same forum about a year later.
The facts: Saban does own property on Lake Burton and regularly spends his early summers there out of the limelight. Mike McGaughey, a realtor in the area who represents the sellers, has explained ad naseum that this was an investment property, not his vacation home. H/T Dave.
