Alabama Football: Crimson Tide Remains Consensus No. 1

The Alabama Crimson Tide remained the unanimous No. 1 team in the country Sunday, capturing all votes in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches top 25 polls.

Alabama took all 60 votes in the AP poll, followed by Oregon in the second spot. Kansas State, fresh off whipping Texas Tech were No. 3, followed by Notre Dame. One-loss LSU, whom Alabama will face next Saturday in Baton Rouge, rounded out the top five.

The coaches ranked the top five exactly the same. Ohio State is not eligible for a bowl game this season and are not ranked by the coaches, however the Buckeyes were ranked No. 6 by the sports media voters.

Previously undefeated Florida fell to eighth place in both polls following their loss to SEC East rival Georgia. All told, seven Southeastern Conference teams are in the top 25.

Alabama is expected to be No. 1 in the BCS poll released later Sunday, but behind them some shakeups are possible as the top four undefeated teams work to sway voters.
