Alabama received all 60 votes in the AP poll. The top 4 spots remained unchanged, with Oregon remaining second after their shootout with USC. Kansas State remained in third and Notre Dame was ranked fourth. Undefeated Ohio State and one-loss Georgia were tied for fifth place.
The same teams held the top five spots in the coaches poll, with Georgia in fifth place. Ohio State is on NCAA probation and is not eligible for postseason play, and therefore is not eligible for votes in the coaches poll.
LSU, Alabama’s opponent Saturday night, was ranked No. 9 in both polls.
It is expected by most analysts that Alabama will remain No. 1 in the BCS standings, which will be released later tonight.
