The Alabama Crimson Tide had a truly amazing 2012 season, as this highlight video attests. Defense was a concern coming into the 2012 season, yet Alabama recorded four shutouts and would likely have had at least two more had their backups not finished the game.
Alabama’s single loss came to a rookie SEC team that found its footing in the conference and began to peak at exactly the right time, behind a quarterback that is the favorite to become the first freshman to win the Heisman trophy.
The stage is now set for Alabama to determine their destiny. With a loss to the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship Game on Saturday, the Crimson Tide will become the butt of jokes nationwide as an overhyped team relying on a soft schedule and SEC bias to carry them this far.
With a win, they will advance to a second consecutive BCS National Championship game – and third in four years – against another old-school powerhouse team. A win in Miami will leave no doubt that Nick Saban has built a dynasty in Tuscaloosa, and restored Alabama football to its Bryant-era glory.
Are you excited yet? We are.
