Alabama Football: Tight End Michael Williams Accepts Senior Bowl Invite

As Alabama continues to prepare to face Notre Dame in the BCS National Championship on January 7, another Crimson Tide senior has accepted an invitation to the 2013 Senior Bowl.

Alabama tight end Michael Williams will join fellow teammates Carson Tinker, Nico Johnson, and Robert Lester in Mobile, AL on January 26.

Michael Williams’ acceptance was announced on Twitter earlier today via the official Senior Bowl Twitter account.

Williams has 21 receptions, 166 yards, and 3 touchdowns on the year. The 6-6, 269 pound tight end is thought to be one of the best blocking tight ends in this year’s NFL Draft.

Michael Williams has been a key part Alabama’s success on offense this season. His size gives AJ McCarron a reliable option in the passing game, while his experience and blocking skills play a major role in the run attack.
