The Alabama Crimson Tide are featured in a new collector’s issue of Sports Illustrated celebrating the Tide’s three BCS Championships in the past four seasons.

Alabama’s 42-14 win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the BCS Championship game gave the Crimson Tide its first back-to-back championships since the 1978-79 seasons.

The 80-page special edition is being sold in newsstands and booksellers across the state of Alabama at a price of $7.99.

According to the Sports Illustrated website, the commemorative edition features a look back at the 2012 season, in which the Crimson Tide went 13-1, with its only loss being to Texas A&M, who were playing in their first season in the Southeastern Conference.

The issue also looks back at some of the all-time legends of Alabama football, such as former Tide legend Joe Namath.

As with all commemorative issues, this special edition is separate from the regular weekly edition of Sports Illustrated.
