Rivals has Jackson as a three star prospect, but ESPN and 247 sports lists him as a four star. Jackson, the 6-foot-1 180 pounder says the Alabama coaching staff recruited him to play cornerback in college. His high school coach has gone as far as to compare Jackson to Patrick Peterson and Charles Woodson.
Jackson took an official visit to Tuscaloosa on January 18th, and enjoyed it so much he nearly committed on the spot. He decided to wait until after his LSU visit this past weekend to make his final decision, but his visit to Baton Rouge couldn’t sway him away from Alabama.
Jackson said he made his final decision on Sunday when he was driving back from LSU, and that’s when he informed the Crimson Tide coaching staff.
Jackson is Alabama’s 22nd commitment to the 2013 class as Nick Saban and company look to make a final charge to the top spot in the recruiting rankings.
It’s obvious that Saban made it a point in this class to get some depth in the defensive backfield as Jackson is the fourth guy in this class recruiting to play in the secondary.
With only a week remaining until National Signing Day, Alabama’s class is nearly complete.
