Alabama Football: Tide Players In The NFL

Super Bowl XVII Courtney Upshaw goes from BCS to Super Bowl

“It’s another championship, but this is the biggest stage,” Upshaw said. “As a kid, we grew up dreaming and hoping that we’d be in the Super Bowl. Not too many people in this league get the chance to get to that first Super Bowl. So for me to be a rookie, it’s just unbelievable. I have to execute on that opportunity.” That’s what Upshaw did in Alabama’s 21-0 win over LSU in the Superdome in January 2012, as he made six tackles and recorded a sack.

Former Tide great assembles Ravens’ squad that will contend for Super Bowl win

“The reason why we were able to win all the games that we won and contend for SEC championships and national championships, the line of scrimmage is always huge,” Newsome said. “When you are able to control the offensive line of scrimmage and the defensive line of scrimmage, you have a chance.”

North Fort Myers family made Ravens’ Cody one of its own

“The best part of living with them was the love they showed me right away,” Cody wrote to The News-Press in a text message this week in between Super Bowl XXXVII meetings and practices. “They accepted me right away as one of their own.”
