The Alabama Crimson Tide softball team continued its success this season with a 10-1 win over Southern Illinois Sunday. They have been playing in Ft Meyers, FL for the weekend and dominated every opponent they faced. They are now 10-0 on the season.
Sophomore Leslie Jury now is 3-0 as a starter in her 2nd season with the Crimson Tide. She struck out six while walking three. She also had one unearned run on four hits. The bats were led by sophomore Danae Hays and senior Kayla Braud, who want for a combined 5-for-5 and six RBI. Senior Kayla Braud had two hits and scored twice while batting in one.
Alabama did have a bit of a scare earlier in the weekend when they faced Georgia Southern Saturday night. They were down 0-1 in the bottom of the ninth to the Eagles. It took a two run walk-off double effort by Danae Hays to take the victory away 2-1.
The top-ranked Alabama softball team finishes their stint away from home with a game against UAB Wednesday before coming home to the Bama Bash tournament next weekend.
