The Alabama Hockey Team will face the Georgia Bulldogs in the Southeastern Collegiate Hockey Conference (SECHC) Tournament on Friday night at 7PM central time at the Benton H. Wilcoxon Municipal Ice Complex in Huntsville. The winner will play again at 8:50pm on Saturday against the winner of the South Carolina and Auburn. The championship game will be played at 2:30pm on Sunday.
The Frozen Tide has a 20-11 overall record for the season and is 6-2 in SECHC play. Ten teams compete in the SECHC, which is in Division III of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA). The conference tournament features eight teams this season.
Alabama, the defending conference champion, has already earned a spot in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division III National Tournament next month, where they will face Iowa State in the first round on March 12. Teams competing in Division III of the ACHA are club teams affiliated with their Universities. As such, players do not receive athletic scholarships to compete.
