Alabama Football: Jesse Williams Falls Short of NFL Bench Press Record, Is Still A Monstar

Former Alabama Crimson Tide defensive lineman Jesse Williams fell short in his quest to break the record for bench press reps at the 2013 NFL Combine, topping out at 30 repetitions of 225 pounds on the bench press. The record of 51 reps was set in 1999 by Eastern Kentucky’s Justin Ernest.

That doesn’t mean the beast that goes by the moniker Da Monstar is finished. Williams is expected to be selected in the latter part of the first round in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Williams appeared on Nova FM in Sydney, Australia last month to talk about his time at Alabama, the NFL and being the first indigenous Australian to make a splash in American football.
