AJ McCarron won’t have to worry about any Ozzy knuckle tattoos getting in the way of his career as a financial planner.
The Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback appeared on the Dan Patrick Show to talk about his career with the Tide, where he’s won back-to-back national championships and will aim for three straight with the approaching 2013 football season.
McCarron, who has 49 touchdowns against eight interceptions in his three seasons as the Crimson Tide starter, talked about his potential Heisman resume with Patrick, and wasn’t concerned about accolades.
“I don’t need some award to tell me what type of player I am,” McCarron said of the Heisman hunt. When I step out on the football field, I feel like I’m the best quarterback in the country at that time.”
Confidence isn’t an issue for McCarron. He said that any quarterback worth his salt should think he’s the best when he gets onto the field.
“I think if you ask any quarterback, if they have the right mindset and confidence, you need to think you’re the best out there,” McCarron said.
Other quotable moments from McCarron:
Nick Saban is funny. “He definitely thinks he’s a jokester.”
Katherine Webb can’t wear Auburn colors to the wedding. “She doesn’t make those decisions.”
On new tattoos. “I got St. Michael fighting Lucifer … There will never be a woman’s name on my arm.”
