Alabama Crimson Tide in the News

Derrick Thomas Should Be in the College Football Hall of Fame

Today should have been the day for Tide and NFL great Derrick Thomas to finally be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame but he has been snubbed again by voters. Thomas, who passed away after an auto accident 13 years ago, was not inducted in two previous votes. He holds the FBS record for most sacks in a single season (27) and most sacks in a career (52). The NCAA did not keep an official statistic on sacks until the 2000 season. Derrick Thomas is already in the NFL Hall of Fame.

Saban Photobombs Graduation

Coach Nick Saban makes the news even when he is not trying. Kessens to Transfer from Longwood to Alabama

Players come and go in Alabama Basketball these days. Michael Kessens, a Freshman forward at Longwood University, announced he will transfer to Alabama and will play for the Tide in 2014. He joins Ricky Tarrant, formerly of Tulane, as transfers to the Tide. Two players recently left Alabama for other schools.
