Texas A&M Towels Hang in Alabama Football Locker Room

We’ve seen Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban use visual aides as motivation in the locker room in the past.  During summer workouts, and throughout the 2011 season, a simple picture hung in the locker room to memorialize Alabama’s collapse in the 2010 Iron Bowl to Auburn. One half of the picture showed Alabama’s triumphant start; a 24-0 lead that seemed insurmountable at the time. The second half of the pictures shows the final score of 28-27 Auburn, a joyful Cam Newton and Nick Fairley celebrating the win, and a simple message that read: “Never Again.”

Alabama used that to fuel their National Championship run in 2011, culminating with a dominant 42-14 beatdown of Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium in the Iron Bowl.

Now, Nick Saban is motivating his team by hanging Texas A&M towels in the locker room as the Crimson Tide are already preparing for their September 14th date in College Station with the Aggies as they look to avenge last season’s 29-24 loss at Bryant-Denny Stadium. This picture, via SB Nation, shows the towels hanging above each weight station in the locker room.

Also, if you look closely you can see the game that is playing on each TV; it’s Texas A&M’s Cotton Bowl victory over Oklahoma. Think Alabama is motivated for their date with the Aggies? Of course, Nick Saban will be preaching taking it one game at a time as they get ready for their season opener against Virginia Tech in the Georgia Dome, but there is no doubt that the Crimson Tide has their date with the Aggies circled on their collective calendars.
