Alabama Crimson Tide defensive lineman Dalvin Tomlinson was injured in Wednesday’s practice and will require knee surgery, according to head coach Nick Saban.

Saban did not specify the nature or extent of the injury.

“I’m not going to comment on what the issue is,” Saban said. “They’ll know for sure when they do the surgery. We’ll let you know what the outcome of that is. Other than that, we’re rolling along.”

The redshirt freshman had four tackles in Alabama’s opener against Virginia Tech in relief of defensive end Jeoffrey Pagan.
