Dalvin Tomlinson out for season after knee surgery

Alabama Crimson Tide defensive end Dalvin Tomlinson will miss the rest of the 2013 season after having knee surgery.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban made the announcement during his Monday press conference to preview the Texas A&M game.

Tomlinson, a redshirt freshman from McDonough, Ga., injured his knee during practice last Wednesday, and had surgery to repair the injured knee on Friday.

The redshirt freshman had four tackles in Alabama’s opener against Virginia Tech in relief of defensive end Jeoffrey Pagan.

Tomlinson injured his other knee playing soccer prior to enrolling at Alabama, and it was thought that he would have started as a freshman if not for the injury.
