Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban addressed this media on Monday afternoon to discuss the Tide’s 49-42 victory over Texas A&M, and covered his thoughts on the game, injured players and the upcoming game against Colorado State.
Saban took questions from the media following his opening comments.
On the Texas A&M game:
Saban felt there was a lot of improvement offensively. On defense, he stated the obvious; that too many points were given up.
“We didn’t play real well … too many big plays, too many missed assignments.”
Saban said the focus needs to be on improving as a team, and that players should have the discipline to trust that the coaching staff knows what they’re doing.
On injured players:
“Deion Belue was “day to day, probably questionable. Kevin Norwood is day to day and probably questionable. Steen is day-to-day but very probable that he’ll be back in a day or whatever.”
On playing Colorado State:
Saban said that head coach and former Crimson Tide offensive coordinator Jim McElwain has done a fabulous job, and is a bright guy that affects players in a positive way. He noted that Colorado State led both Colorado and Toledo late.
“The team is always very well-prepared, and do a really good job of executing during the game.”
