Alabama continued preparation today for this weekend’s matchup with Colorado State.
Injured cornerback Deion Belue and wide receiver Kevin Norwood continued to work with trainers to the side as practice went on.
Kevin Steen was practicing and not in a black, non-contact jersey but Kellen Williams continued taking the first team reps against the scout team today while Steen watched from the side.
Despite not getting a carry Saturday Dee Hart was second in the running back rotation behind TJ Yeldon with Kenyan Drake and Jalston Fowler following in that order.
Cornerback John Fulton wasn’t listed as injured but he seemed to be limited in practice today and Bradley Sylve took his spot in first team defense drills.
All four of Alabama’s freshmen running backs – Derrick Henry, Altee Tenpenny, Alvin Kamara and Tyren Jones – are wearing scout team jerseys this week.
In other news former Alabama safety Robert Lester was signed from the Carolina Panthers practice squad to the active roster today due to a rash of injuries at the position. Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said of Lester, “he’s a smart, sharp individual who played in a very good system at Alabama. This isn’t too big for him.”
Alabama returns to practice tomorrow afternoon and Coach Saban will speak to the media.
