The Alabama Crimson Tide returned to practice on Tuesday during another cool fall day.
Injured linebacker Denzel Devall was practicing today working with the outside linebackers in drills after sitting out practice yesterday. His left knee was heavily wrapped with a brace on it and didn’t look to be full speed yet. Defensive end Jeoffrey Pagan and cornerback Eddie Jackson also continue to practice despite their injuries last week.
Starting center Ryan Kelly was again not seen at practice today as he continues to rehab his injured knee.
Freshman defensive end Tim Williams was wearing a scout team jersey after playing against Georgia State.
All four freshmen running backs continue to work with the scout team as well. Derrick Henry and Tyren Jones are wearing No. 4 playing the role of Kentucky running back Raymond Sanders III (183 yards, 2 TD) while Altee Tenpenny and Alvin Kamara wore the No. 3 jersey of Kentucky back Jojo Kemp (226 yards).
Freshmen quarterbacks Cooper Bateman and Parker McLeod are also on the scout team. Bateman is wearing No. 2, which belongs to Kentucky QB Jalen Whitlow. Whitlow leads Kentucky in rushing with 238 yards and three TDs, as well as completing nearly 70 percent of his passes for 499 yards and three TDs with one interception. McLeod is wearing No. 11, which belongs to Kentucky QB Maxwell Smith. Smith, more of a pocket passer, leads the Wildcats with 634 yards passing and four TDs with one pick as well. Smith and Whitlow shared the duties under center for the first four games, but Whitlow played the entire game last Saturday against South Carolina.
A New Orleans Saints scout was in attendance at practice today.
