Alabama Crimson Tide fans needed some good news on this Monday following a crushing Iron Bowl defeat to Auburn, and Laurence ‘Hootie’ Jones has provided just that.
The four-star safety out of Monroe, Louisiana’s Neville High School announced today that he will be attending the University of Alabama.
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Jones is ranked as the No. 2 safety prospect by 247Sports. He chose Alabama over his native state program, the LSU Tigers.
As reported by al.com, Alabama commits Cameron Robinson and Cameron Sims were both in attendance at the announcement. Both friends of Jones, their commitments helped push Jones to his decision.
Alabama has the top-ranked recruiting class in the country by all the major ranking services.
