It looks as if Alabama junior free safety HaHa Clinton-Dix has undergone knee surgery on a torn meniscus, according to a tweet today from teammate John Fulton.

Fulton tweeted that Dix had been playing through the injury for weeks. Meniscus tears can have relatively short recovery time depending on how severe the tear is and it’s not clear if Dix will be able to play in Alabama’s bowl game, but not out of the realm of possibility.

Dix is considered one of the top safety prospects in the upcoming 2014 NFL Draft and if he doesn’t play in the bowl game he may very well have played his last game in crimson. Alabama has yet to comment on the injury but Dix did retweet Fulton’s tweet earlier in the day confirming the surgery.
