Alabama Crimson Tide linebacker Xzavier Dickson and running back Alvin Kamara were suspended today by head coach Nick Saban and will not play in the Sugar Bowl against the Oklahoma Sooners.
Dickson played in all 12 games this season behind Denzel Devall, after starting six games last season and recording 13 tackles and a sack.
Kamara, a true freshman, has had a troubled 2013. He injured a knee in the preseason, and never saw action during the season. Kamara wasn’t on the sidelines for the LSU game, for what was termed “behavioral reasons.”
With Alabama loaded at running back, Kamara is not doing himself any favors by staying in Nick Saban’s doghouse, and it could be that he may be encouraged to seek his fortunes elsewhere next season.
