Former Alabama Crimson Tide running back Terry Grant is the target of an arrest warrant after he fled the scene of a traffic stop.
Grant, 26, is wanted in Hattiesburg, MS after he ran from authorities on Tuesday. WDAM in Mississippi reports that Grant fled the scene on foot and dropped a bag he was carrying while to climb a fence.
The bag was found to be filled with cocaine, and Grant is now wanted on drug charges as well.
Grant, a native of Lumberton, MS, played for the Crimson Tide from 2006 to 2009. As a redshirt freshman, Grant lead the team in rushing with 180 carries for 891 yards and eight touchdowns, adding 26 receptions for 176 yards and a touchdown.
His career at Alabama was limited by injuries, and after graduating, he decided to forgo his fifth year. He was signed by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League in 2011, and attended a rookie camp with the Kansas City Chiefs early in 2013.
Here’s a fantastic piece on the long, strange journey of the former Tide back.
