Former Alabama Crimson Tide and current Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus is headed to his first Pro Bowl. Dareus has been added to the roster as an injury replacement in place of San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Justin Smith.

Dareus, who was selected by the Bills in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft, had an outstanding season, finishing with 7.5 sacks and 71 tackles.

Alabama fans will recall that it was Dareus’ jarring hit on Texas Longhorns’ quarterback Colt McCoy that sent the QB to the bench for the remainder of the game. Dareus later had another highlight with this interception of a shovel pass by Texas backup Garrett Gilbert. Dareus returned the interception for a touchdown, exhibiting a nifty spin move along the way.
