Jacob Coker has transferred to Alabama from Florida State, and will be eligible to play this coming fall. Fans are excited, the media are piling on superlatives, and this is all before he ever dons a crimson jersey.
Here’s video of every play from center for Coker in 2013, beginning with the Florida State spring game.
Alabama fans expecting to get their first glimpse of Coker at the A-Day spring game will be disappointed, however. Coker will not be joining the team until after his graduation from Florida State in May. But come fall practice, Coker says he’ll be ready to run the Crimson Tide offense.
“I think it’ll be very similar to things I’ve done in the past,” Coker said. “I don’t think it’s going to take too long for me to get comfortable with it. I’ve just go to get my nose in the play book. I’m looking forward to getting as prepared as I possibly can before I get there.”
Coker can begin studying Alabama’s offense, and be ready to go in the fall.
“I can start looking at the play book now, ” Coker says. “I don’t actually have it in my hand right now, but I should have it soon. I’m looking forward to studying it and getting comfortable with everything.”
