DT Matt Elam to Announce for Alabama or Kentucky on Thursday

Five-star defensive tackle Matt Elam has announced that he will make his college choice known on Thursday.

One of Alabama’s top remaining targets, Elam will select between Alabama and Kentucky. Elam is a 6-foot-5, 375-pound tackle rated the No. 3 defensive tackle prospect in the nation. He had a stellar senior season for John Hardin High School, recording 85 tackles and earning a trip to the US Army All-American Bowl.

The massive Elam is a native of Elizabethtown, Ky., and has been recruited hard by his home state team. Elam will be weighing his state loyalty against a much greater likelihood of playing for a national title with the Crimson Tide.

In the end, it could come down to where he is most comfortable, and going out on a limb, we’ll predict he stays in the Bluegrass State.
