Friday Poll: Who Will Be Alabama’s Next Starting QB?

Alabama is going to have big shoes to fill in replacing AJ McCarron at the quarterback position in 2014. Nick Saban has a lot of options, however. From the experience and athleticism of Blake Sims to the potential and reputation of Jacob Coker, the tools are there for the Crimson Tide offense to put up big numbers.

BamaHammer readers know their football, so we want to hear from you. Put yourself in the tiny, impeccably polished shoes of Nick Saban, and let us know who gets the starting job. Do you go with seniority and stability, or give the reins to a rookie to shake up the offense?

Blake Sims will start. Can he hold on to the starting role? TBD

Not likely. But then again, I’m not the coach.

I went with Jake Coker in the poll but I think there should be a real competition in the spring to see who is the #2 option in case he isn’t all that is expected.
I expect that second person to be David Cornwell. He seems to have the skills and the mental accumen that Saban likes. If Jake is not the started, I expect it to be DC.

Blake Sims has had his chances and has not produced. I would not be shocked to see him move to another position.

Coker will win the job during the summer/fall practices. Cornwell comes in highly touted, and I expect he will be the front runner after spring practices. Simms will have a few plays built in as well, but I don’t think he’ll be the starter. I expect the following when the season begins:
    1. Coker
    2. Cornwell
    2a. Simms
    3. Morris

I am a bit more concerned about the O-line coming together and gelling as a unit. If that doesn’t happen, it won’t matter who is the QB, the RB, or the WR. I do believe they will get there, and accordingly I have high expectations for the year. I can hardly wait for the season to start! RTR!!!
