Former Alabama Crimson Tide running back Eddie Lacy was honored as the Associated Press’ NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year on Saturday. The Green Bay Packers RB beat out San Diego Chargers receiver Keenan Allen among others for the award.
The award was presented by Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Cam Newton, who said that Lacy was from his “ark” rival. Lacy, looking dapper in a houndstooth jacket, took the stage and replied to Newton succinctly:
Lacy was an integral part of the Packers offense this season. He had 284 carries for 1,178 yards and 11 touchdowns on the season. He added 35 catches out of the backfield.
