Safety Chris Williams Flips From Alabama to Central Florida

Alabama Crimson Tide commit Chris Williams has changed his mind one day ahead of National Signing Day, and flipped his commitment to the Central Florida Golden Knights.

Williams, a 6-foot-1, 181-pound safety out of Kingsland, Ga., is rated at three stars by 247Sports.com. He originally committed to the Crimson Tide last March, but has changed that after visiting UCF in Orlando this past weekend. Williams had an official visit to Tuscaloosa in mid-January.

Alabama has two early enrollee defensive backs on campus already in cornerback Tony Brown and safety Laurence Jones, and has a commitment from dual-sport star Marlon Humphrey. Losing the No. 40 overall safety in the nation is not, in the grand scheme of things, a massive loss, but with a relative lack of experience in the backfield, Alabama wants to lock down its remaining targets.
