It’s still early in this class’ season so buckle up and hang on. The fun is just beginning for the Class of 2015

The Tide lost one of their quarterback targets a few days ago when Jarrett Stidham announced via his Twitter that he had committed to the Red Raiders of Texas Tech. Bama is still in on a few of them as well as it being a long time to National Signing Day.

The staff did pick up some good news this past week when Anfernee Jennings committed to the Tide via his Twitter.  Jennings is a 6’3″, 250 pound Defensive End out of Dadeville, AL. He is also the 3rd in-state commitment for the Tide joining Desherrius Flowers and Lester Cotton. Jennings is rated a 3 star prospect on 247Sports. Jennings’ mother spoke to BamaOnline shortly after his commitment.

"“He committed- he talked with Coach Saban. I know he enjoyed the campus and the education- he’s all about the education. I think the family atmosphere made him feel at home.“I’m going to stand behind him and his decision, whichever school he chooses. I’m an educator, so whatever decision he makes I’m proud of him as long as he focuses on his degree.”"

The Crystal Ball predictions for 5-star cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick are starting to come in for Alabama. As of now, Bama holds a 44% to 38% lead over Ohio St for the New Jersey prospect. Fitzpatrick wants to make a decision during the summer and he will be attending A-Day this year. Coach Mario Cristobal is his lead recruiter and he talks to the Bama staff daily according to Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports.

Class of 2015 linebacker Leo Lewis from Mississippi appears to be leaning toward the Tide according to Taylor Hamm of the Texas A&M 247 site. The 4-star prospect told one of our HZT staff members that he plans to attend A-Day as well. Lewis talks with Coach Burton Burns the most.

Things are looking great right now for offensive lineman Richie Petitbon out of Washington, DC. He is expected to visit The Capstone very soon and wants to get his family down to see everything. Petitbon says the Alabama is his top school and he is in constant contact with Coach Saban, Coach Thompson and Coach Cristobal. He is aiming for a summer decision but if he is unsure, he intends to stretch it out a bit until he is sure of his choice.

Current Alabama commit Deionte Thompson definitely deserves a mention after his performance at the Rivals Camp Series in Houston this past weekend. Thompson was rated as the number 2 recruit there this weekend on offense. Here is a short free video interview with Thompson from the camp.

We are planning on doing this weekly to keep folks updated that may not keep up as closely as others do. You can also join us on the Bama Recruiting Board linked at the top of the page to keep up with the prospects as well.
