Kickoff Time, TV Set for Alabama vs. West Virginia

The kickoff of Alabama’s opening season game against the West Virginia Mountaineers has its kickoff time. The game, being played in the Georgia Dome as part of the Chick-fil-a Kickoff, is slated to begin at 2:30pm, according to the West Virginia announcement. The game will be aired on your local ABC affiliate.

This is the second straight season Alabama has participated in the Chick-fil-a Kickoff game. This will also be the second straight year Alabama has kicked off in the afternoon, having played Virginia Tech last year in the Georgia a Dome at 4:30. The last time Alabama kicked off in the afternoon before that date was 2003, where Alabama took on South Florida in Birmingham.

No other start times or TV assignments for the other games this season have been set yet. We usually don’t know until SEC Media Days what the first three games will look like. It will be an anticipated announcement, as the launch of the brand-new SEC Network on August 20th looms large, yet only two providers have come forth and struck a deal with ESPN for the network.
