Former Alabama softball star Jaclyn Traina and Crimson Tide junior outfielder Haylie McCleney received exciting over the weekend. The two were both named to the US National Softball Team roster.
Traina was first selected to the national team in 2012, shortly after leading the Crimson Tide to their first National Championship in school history.
McCleney is a first time selection to Team USA. She finished up her sophomore season with a .444 batting average, 88 hits and 10 home runs.
McCleney joins Florida infielder Kelsey Stewart as the only other current SEC player to represent Team USA on the international level.
Traina and McCleney were selected as NFCA First Team All-Americans following the 2014 season.
Team USA will begin exhibition play on July 2 in Morgantown, West Virginia.
