Alabama Crimson Tide Tuesday Player Interviews

Shortly after practice concluded for the day, Alabama made a couple of players available to the media for interviews. Be sure to check out the practice report and check out the videos plus highlights below.

 Brian Vogler:

  • Seems fall camp has lasted longer than normal. Ready to get out there and face an opponent that they haven’t seen yet.
  • Guys are excited to get out there and see how the new things on offense look on the field.
  • Vogler says Blake Sims is a high energy guy that wants to be everyone’s friend. If someone is having a bad day, Sims is the one that will pick them up.
  • Saw Sims run up a wall and do a back flip off of it. Played in 7 on 7 tournaments with him in high school as well as participated in combines together.
  • Vogler’s brother is bringing his entire engagement party to the game in Atlanta.
  • Surroundings in Atlanta are familiar so it almost feels like home game now.
  • West Virginia’s defense is different than anything Alabama has seen before. Some positives and negatives.
  • The team threw the freshmen into the fire and prepared them early. The first game jitters will come but they have been tested.
  • Focused on what they have coming this year rather than looking back on last year.

Nick Perry:

  • Practice has been tough but Saban wants the players more prepared than the other team. Ready to hit someone else.
  • Happy to be playing for Alabama for another year and plans to make the most of the opportunity.
  • Sees the biggest challenge for his position as staying focused. Don’t make mental errors and focus on his duty.
  • Clint Trickett is a good quarterback. He makes good throws and is a good athlete.
  • Feels this year’s secondary blends better than last year’s unit.
  • Says Blake Sims is the life of the party off the field. Passionate about anything that he does.
  • Perry also said Sims did anything that Coach Saban asked him to do and is the perfect teammate.
  • Landon Collins has turned into a monster. He is a commander out there.
  • Just wants to prove Alabama is back on top and restore order in the SEC.
