Alabama Expected To Hire Longtime NFL Assistant As Defensive Line Coach

"Alabama is expected to hire longtime NFL assistant Karl Dunbar as its defensive line coach, sources told AL.com.The Tide’s previous defensive line coach, Bo Davis, resigned Friday.The 48-year old Dunbar has a longstanding relationship with Alabama coach Nick Saban."

Following the unexpected departure of defensive line coach Bo Davis last Friday, everyone is expecting Alabama to hire Karl Dunbar to fill the position.  Dunbar has worked in the NFL since 06, but before that, he was the strength and conditioning coach for Saban during his time at LSU. BamaHammer.com also reported this story Sunday, and it appears that our sources were indeed correct. Dunbar will have some impressive shoes to fill, as Davis leaves behind quite a legacy with a line that could be counted on to make even the toughest stops.

8 Alabama Players Sign NFL Free Agent Contracts

"Alabama saw another impressive list of seven players drafted in the first three rounds of the 2016 National Football League Draft this past weekend. Since the conclusion of the NFL Draft on Sunday, eight more players have earned an opportunity in the National Football League by signing undrafted free-agent contracts."

While 7 Crimson Tide players were selected in the first three rounds of the 2016 NFL draft, this week another eight players signed free agent contracts with various organizations around the league. Among those who will have the potential to play on Sundays in the coming years are QB Jacob Coker, DE DJ Pettway, and FB Michael Nysewander. Alabama Softball Enters Final Week of Regular Season Ranked Number 4

"For the fifth-straight week, Alabama softball is ranked No. 4 in both the USA Today/NFCA poll and the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll, released Tuesday.Alabama is now 43-10 overall and 14-7 in SEC play following a series win on the road against South Carolina. The Crimson Tide has now won at least six SEC series in four of the last five years."

Alabama softball is beginning the final series of the regular season in the same place they’ve been for the 5th straight week – ranked #4 in both major polls. The Tide has an impressive 43-10 overall record. The ladies will play the Georgia Bulldogs in the final conference series of the season this weekend in Tuscaloosa.
