Alabama head coach Kristy Curry told rolltide.com

"“I appreciate our community. What a great crowd on a Thursday night and we hope that everybody that was here will come back and see us in the future. We really appreciate them; so many coaches within the department, athletes and departmental personnel. It was great to see so many faces in the crowd, and again we really appreciate everyone’s support. I’m really proud of our team for finding a way to win. Each one of them.”"

Alabama Basketball showed focus and intensity throughout the entire came. The offense was on fire as four players scored in double digits: Junior guard Hannah Cook (18 points), Junior forward Ashley Williams (13 points), Junior forward Quanetria Bolton (13 points) and freshman guard Jordan Lewis (13 points).

The Lady Crimson Tide were on target hitting 49 percent from the field and an eye-popping 57 percent from three-point range. Junior Hannah Cook was on fire hitting 70 percent of her shots while juniors Ashley Williams and Quanetria Bolton as well as freshman Jordan Lewis shot 43 percent or better from the field.

Alabama Basketball wanted to get the home crowd involved and they did just that as they raced out to a 10 point lead at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Crimson Tide intensity maintained pressure on the Green Wave and built an eight-point lead at halftime.

Tulane tried to mount some offense in the third quarter but Alabama quickly responded. Junior Quanetria Bolton scored eight consecutive points, pushing the Tide to a 52-40 lead at the end of the third quarter.

Alabama Basketball maintained their focus and did not allow Tulane to get closer than eight points. The Lady Tide hit 90 percent of their free-throws to seal the victory.

Alabama head coach Kristy Curry was proud of the team but also knows there is room for improvement as she told rolltide.com

"“We talked after the game about what we could take away and continue to learn from tonight, and I thought they had some great points. It was composure and little things as we went throughout each one. I thought that down the stretch, we had great composure against a very well coached Tulane team. “"

Alabama Basketball advances to the Elite 8 of the WNIT for only the second time in school history. The Lady Crimson Tide will travel to Atlanta to face the Georgia Tech Lady Yellow Jackets on Sunday, March 26th at 1:00 PM.
