Alabama Football

The biggest surprise news of the week was a player transfer announcement.

The Crimson Tide roster drops closer to the 85 player scholarship limit for 2017. Multiple insiders suggested the obvious potential of true freshmen Henry Ruggs and Devonta Smith may have influenced Simmons.

On the plus side, Alabama football got a commitment from a highly sought cornerback recruit for 2018.

Alabama football fans already knew what a special player the Tide has in Minkah Fitzpatrick. The stat below is one of the reasons why.

There was some disappointing news about former Alabama football players this week. DeAndrew White was released by the New England Patriots.

Javier Arenas and Adrian Hubbard failed to make the roster of the Ottawa Redblacks in the Canadian Football League. The only former Alabama football player in the CFL this season will be D. J. Pettway, as a practice squad player.

Alabama Basketball

Avery Johnson has taken Alabama basketball recruiting to a new level. Having a head coach with NBA championship winning experience gives the Tide a big advantage with recruits.

Alabama Golf

Former Alabama golfer Robby Shelton won a tournament on the Canadian PGA Tour last Sunday. It was Shelton’s first Mackenzie Tour win.
