2. Get Saucy at Dreamland & Archibald’s BBQ

There is only one thing better than traditional bar-b-que in the south, and that’s traditional bar-b-que in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. If you’re from the area or just a passerby, there are several places that you can try. Not only can you try them, but you should try them. Here are a few local favorites that have earned their reviews.

The original Dreamland Bar-B-Que is your typical hole in the wall, off the beaten path, shack. They specialize in one thing, and one thing only…RIBS. Travelers from across the country, locals, celebrities, you name it, have eaten there. National wide, Dreamland is known for their quality. There “ain’t nothing like ‘em nowhere!”

Another favorite, Archibald’s, is also a contender for the best ribs in town. However, the most memorable experience from eating at Archibald’s is the sauce. It is not what you would expect from a traditional bar-b-que restaurant. But then again, eating in a two-bedroom house, where your food is literally cooked out of an oven in the wall is not something you would expect out of restaurant either. If you’re in for a treat, then Tuscaloosa is the place for you.
