The Alabama recruiting class could add four-star Will Ignont in the near future, but which way is the north Alabama standout trending?
Will Ignont, a four-star recruit from New Market, Alabama (Buckhorn High School) has a lingering choice to make. It’s either Alabama or Auburn at the top of the list, with Florida State at a distant third. Listed as an inside linebacker and standing at an easy 6-foot-2, 238 pounds, we can all imagine why Alabama is eager to gain this commitment.
But that is just the problem. Can Alabama win over Ignont’s verbal commitment? Ignont’s mother spoke today and said that he is still weighing his decision and it will be a bit longer on his decision. At one point, it was rumored that Ignont had silently committed to Alabama, but that has yet to be seen.

247Sports has Alabama highlighted with a 68 percent advantage over the Auburn Tigers. However, June 3, Ignont made an unofficial visit to Auburn. What does this mean for either program?
Ignont is taking his time to give a commitment. With the news of him delaying his announcement that he was going to make today or Friday paired with the last few picks to Auburn on 247Sports’ Crystal Ball, one could see how the Tigers may have an edge. With seven visits to Tuscaloosa and three being this past spring, you know that Saban and the rest of the coaching staff have to be making some kind of impression.
Attending camp this week in Tuscaloosa has hopefully gained the Crimson Tide some ground and we can pencil him to the Good Guys pretty soon when he makes his decision.
Alabama has been extremely successful on defense and with the recent success of linebackers in Alabama’s scheme, it is easy to see why Ignont is showing heavy interest. But, we all know that being listed as a favorite can mean absolutely nothing. The Tigers are still nipping at Alabama’s heels.
As of right now, there is no set date for when we will know Ignont’s decision, but keep checking BamaHammers website for updates and postings.
