Alabama Football: 2019 early enrollees list and details

Alabama football has 23 signed members of the 2019 class and up to 17 of the new Crimson Tide players are intending to enroll early.

Alabama football is jump-starting the 2019 season early with at least 16 new signees enrolling early. The Crimson Tide number of early enrollees varies each year but has typically been less than 10. In 2017, the number was 16 but in last year’s 2018 class, only five players enrolled early.

The 2019 class early enrollee numbers could become the highest ever. As many as 17 new Crimson Tide players are expected to enroll in school within the next several weeks. The process can drag out as signees go through the NCAA Clearinghouse process. Sometimes, an early enrollee must finish a high school online class or two before being cleared.

One 2019 signee, Braylen Ingraham, could not choose to enroll early because his high school, St. Thomas Aquinas, does not allow it.

Four enrolled in December

Four players already enrolled in December: Pierce Quick; Paul Tyson; D.J. Dale and John Metchie. Quick decided to fully participate in Playoff practices, meaning he will miss his opportunity to play in the Under Armour All-America game.

Locked in for early enroll

The following list of new Crimson Tiders will enroll early according to 247 Sports.

  • Evan Neal – 5-Star OT
  • Antonio Alfano – 5- Star SDE
  • Amari Kight – 4-Star OT
  • Shane Lee – 4-Star ILB
  • Justin Eboigbe – 4-Star SDE
  • Jeffery Carter – 4-Star CB
  • Taulia Tagovailoa – 4-Star QB
  • Kevin Harris – 4-Star DE
  • Tanner Bowles – 4-Star OG
  • Darrian Dalcourt – 4-Star OG
  • Will Reichard – 3-Star Kicker

Some delay expected

  • 4-Star, DE, King Mwikuta recently obtained an entry-level ACT score which is likely to mean a couple of weeks delay getting through the Clearinghouse process.
  • 5-Star, Trey Sanders has been rumored needing to finish a couple of online high school classes. Sanders may not be allowed to enroll until early February.

The Alabama football staff had hoped to add 4-Star, Brandon Turnage and 4-Star Christian Harris to the early enrollee class. Neither are currently expected to enroll early.

Whether the final early count is 15, 16 or 17, the 2019 Alabama football roster will benefit from the large group of new players participating in the 4th Quarter program and Spring Training. Six to eight (maybe more) of the incoming freshmen could work their way into the 2019 Crimson Tide two-deep. A couple of them might even earn starting roles next fall.

Alabama football fans are already anticipating the 2020 signing class. Currently, the Alabama Crimson Tide has the No. 1 class with 11 verbal commits.
