Alabama Football: Final 2020 NFL Draft Prediction for 12 former Tide players
By Ronald Evans
- Terrell Lewis – There has been lots of rumbling of teams concerned about his health. Edge rushers are always in short supply, so Lewis should be a second or perhaps third-round pick.
- Raekwon Davis – Don’t be surprised if Kwon is taken in round two. Dropping below round three seems unlikely.
- Anfernee Jennings – Some team will score a draft bonanza taking Anfernee late in the third or in the fourth round.
- Shyheim Carter – Considered by Nick Saban as one of his smartest defensive backs, Carter will get a shot to make a team. Look for him from round six to undrafted.
- Jared Mayden – Mayden is another who should benefit by learning from Nick Saban. Like Carter, look at round six to undrafted.
- Jalen Hurts – Listing this former Alabama football player earlier would have been more accurate. Hurts is expected to be selected in the third round as somewhere between the fifth and seventh QB taken.
Counting Jalen as a drafted former Alabama football player may rankle Sooners. Jalen started 28 games as a Tide QB, compared to 14 at Oklahoma. He deserves to be listed with the other former Alabama football players.
If Carter and Mayden are drafted, counting Jalen would tie the Crimson Tide team record of 12 players selected in a single NFL Draft.
The 2020 NFL Draft will be broadcast by the NFL Network, ESPN and ABC. Thursday night begins at 7:00 PM, Friday at 6:00 PM and Saturday at 11:00 AM. All times are CST.
