Alabama Football: 3 reasons Vols will never beat Nick Saban

Reasons the Vols will never beat Nick Saban and Alabama football
2. Tennessee is a step behind in recruiting
Jeremy Pruitt has stepped up Tennessee recruiting over the past few seasons, but he does not have the stable infrastructure to consistently recruit top-tier classes like Alabama does. He might land one or two studs every year, but most of his prospects are three-star players.
When you compare that with what Alabama football does every year, it just is not fair. Nick Saban always has one of the best classes in the country. Pruitt and the Vols would be lucky to have a recruiting class as talented as Alabama’s 2021 class.
It’s easy to judge which team will be better for the next year or two. In order to project beyond the current rotation players, you have to look at recruiting. For Tennessee to consistently compete with the Crimson Tide, they would have to be building a powerhouse. I might be wrong, but I doubt that the Vols program on that kind of trajectory. Even if they are, I’m not sure if Jeremy Pruitt will be the coach to get them there. He is great for them right now, but the coach that drags you out of the mud is rarely the same coach that lifts you up to the sky.
To put it simply, Alabama shouldn’t worry about Tennessee recruiting for years to come.
