Reasons the Vols will never beat Nick Saban and Alabama football
3. Tennessee is running out of chances to topple Saban
This is the conversation that no Alabama football fan wants to have. The fact remains that Nick Saban’s years in coaching are limited. No one truly knows when he will call it quits, but he has the legacy to leave on his own terms. I hope that I’m wrong, but it is more likely that he retires in the next few seasons than it is that he lasts for another fifteen years.
I think it’s safe to say that Nick Saban is at least half of the way through his tenure with the Crimson Tide. With that in mind, it is safe to say that Tennessee is running out of opportunities to beat Alabama while Saban is in charge.
When you think about the current state of Tennessee football, they are at least three years away from being a competitor in the SEC. At that point, it will still take a perfect storm to beat Alabama. Every year that they lose, they are closer to never beating Nick Saban.
This rivalry is in shambles. Tennessee hopes that Pruitt will save it, but no Nick Saban assistant has ever beaten the teacher. Pruitt might be the answer in the long term, but the Vols do not have what it takes to beat Alabama football.
