Alabama Football: Tide breaks record in final NFL Mock Draft

Alabama football breaks record in NFL Mock Draft 5.0
3. San Francisco 49ers: Mac Jones, QB, Alabama
If you told me that Mac Jones would be the first Alabama football player drafted in 2021 before the season, I would have called you crazy. At the time, Jones wasn’t even a lock to be the starting quarterback. Somehow, Jones defied the odds to become one of the best quarterbacks in college football.
Many will scoff at the idea of Mac Jones being QB3, and I understand the sentiment. Justin Fields was one of the highest-rated quarterbacks in high school, and he did nothing in college to prove people wrong. Still, this is about what will happen, and it appears that San Francisco is ready to hitch its future to Mac Jones.
If the 49ers pull the trigger, they will have a dedicated leader and winner. Jones is the most accurate quarterback in college football history, and he ran a similar scheme with the Tide.
For Jones, this is a dream fit. He would make millions if he were drafted this high, and he would instantly have a top offensive line and head coach. With young weapons around him, he could succeed in San Francisco.
While this might not make 49ers fans happy, expect Mac Jones to be the guy with the third overall pick.
