Alabama football’s report card vs. LSU

Inside Linebackers: B+

For the most part, this was a solid game for the inside linebackers. Christian Harris was playing against his hometown team, so there was a personal piece to this game. He played well and impacted the passing game by blitzing often.

The unit hasn’t quite lived up to the hype, but they have improved every week. Christian Harris will likely be drafted in the top two rounds of the upcoming NFL Draft, and To’o To’o has gone from a transfer to a key contributor for the Tide.

Outside Linebackers: A+

Will Anderson deserves the Heisman Trophy. He likely won’t win it, but there is no doubt that he is the best player in college football right now. He was consistently in the backfield for Alabama football, and he led the team in tackles as an outside linebacker. He can do it all, and opposing offenses have no idea how to stop him.

Dallas Turner also had an excellent game with two sacks. Once Drew Sanders is fully healthy, the outside linebacker unit will be locked and loaded for the next two years. Anderson would be a first-round pick right now, but he has to return for one more season. That means that Alabama football will see this monster again next year as he continues to be one of the best defensive players in the history of Alabama football.
