Alabama Football: Seven bold predictions for Texas game
By Ronald Evans
Alabama Football Bold Prediction No. 3
The most effective offensive weapon for Texas will be Xavier Worthy on punt returns. Which does not mean Worthy will put up big numbers. He might bust one, but because of the Alabama football offense having consistent success, Worthy will get few touches as a returner.
Bold Prediction No. 4
Steve Sarkisian has a sharp offensive mind. At Alabama, Sark accomplished Nick Saban’s mandate of having a balanced offense that was also explosive. The biggest offensive weakness Sarkisian must scheme around is a mediocre offensive line. Even if his freshman tackle, Kelvin Banks holds up, the interior of the Texas line will be exposed. The Tide interior defense will push the pocket and pressure off the edge will be relentless.
Sarkisian will counter with short routes and quick reads for Quinn Ewers. As a result, the Tide defense will record only three sacks, but it will get at least seven quarterback hurries. Ewers may complete a high percentage of his passes, but his passing output will be well under 200 yards.
