Alabama Football: FBS programs that have never played the Crimson Tide
By Ronald Evans
The Alabama Crimson Tide has never played seven current Mountain West teams and eight Sun Belt teams. The 15 programs are listed below.
Among them, Boise State and Appalachian State have historical proof they can knock off a heavyweight. Given the inflated value given by many to Coastal Carolina in recent seasons, Alabama football fans (and other SEC fans) might enjoy watching the Chanticleers go up against a real defense.
Two more programs are interesting for different reasons. Similar to the situation with UAB, Alabama has stayed away from scheduling other in-state schools and that includes South Alabama.
San Diego State would make for an interesting future matchup. By the time a future game could be added between SDSU and the Crimson Tide, the Aztecs are likely to be a Pac-12 (or some number) team.
