Crimson Tide Recruiting Roundup

We all expected the quarterback dominoes to start falling but I don’t know if anyone expected them this soon. 4-Star Dual Threat QB Blake Barnett is the Tide’s man for the 2015. Barnett is from Corona, CA and just paid a visit to Tuscaloosa where both him and his family can away impressed with everything the Tide had to offer.

Most fans that hear the words “dual threat” and have their ears perk up thinking we are about to speed things up and run hurry up, no huddle. With the skill set Barnett brings to the table, I think you will see a lot of the same things we are used to in a Saban team’s offense but Barnett will have the ability of stretch plays and come out of the pocket if it collapses. According to an interview with Ryan Fowler on The Game radio show from Tuscaloosa, Barnett intends to arrive in Tuscaloosa in January, is shutting down his recruitment and is solid to the Tide. You can read HZT’s Barnett Commitment Post here.

You can hear the interview in its entirety below.

 3-Star TE Jalen Harris

According to Tide Sports’ Andrew Bone, 3 star instate tight end will make his college decision next Tuesday at 6pm Central time and will pick between LSU, Alabama, and Auburn. Just judging from the interviews I have read, it seems to be that Harris may be leading toward Auburn after his visit. That is subject to change and I have seen this staff pull off things that I didn’t think was even possible. Be sure to keep and eye on this one for the next few days to see if we all can tell if Harris swayed one or another.

4-Star Tyler Carr

Word was a few days ago was that both the Auburn and Alabama staffs were wanting a decision from the Gadsden AL prospect. Up until a few days ago, it seemed like the feeling would change daily on where Carr would end up. As of late, Tide Sports’ Andrew Bone believes it is a coin flip between the two teams and that a decision isn’t likely this week as he is torn between the two.

Big 2015 Already

As of right now, the Tide has 19 commitments and 16 of those are in the ESPN300. That is unbelievable to me, especially being in June. Like everyone says, recruiting is fluid so some of those prospects may be swayed by other recruits. On the other hand, they all could still stick. This is when things start to get really fun when recruitniks start to discuss and guess exactly who Coach  Saban and staff will close with for 2015. The staff has been impressive with the ones that we have been in on and I can’t see the finish being anything less than that. Either way you look at it, it’s an awesome time to be a Bama fan. The Tide has the number 1 class all wrapped up for 2015 and according to the analysts, no one has a chance of taking over the top spot.
