Alabama Players Selected to All-America Teams

This week Athlon Sports released its pre-season All America team, and a duo of Alabama players made the list. Junior receiver Amari Cooper and junior safety Landon Collins were both selected to the All-America first team, along with junior running back T.J. Yeldon, sophomore tight end O.J. Howard, and senior linebacker Trey DePriest on the second team. Running back Derrick Henry was selected to the third team as an “all purpose player.” Defensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson was selected to the fourth team.

Five other SEC players were selected to the first team, in Georgia running back Todd Gurley, South Carolina offensive guard AJ Cann, Mississippi State defensive end Chris Jones, Georgia linebacker Ramik Wilson, and Florida cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III. The full roster of All America selections is below.

Earlier this month Athlon Sports selected a slew of Alabama players to the pre season All SEC team as well. T.J. Yeldon (RB), Amari Cooper (WR), O.J. Howard (TE), A’Shawn Robinson (DE), Trey DePriest (LB), Landon Collins, and Christion Jones (KR/PR) were selected to the first team. Austin Shepherd (OT) was the only second team selection, while Derrick Henry (RB) was the only third team selection. Ryan Kelly (C), Arie Kouandjio (OG), Brandon Ivory (DT), and Denzel Devall (LB) were on the fourth team.
